Name: Snow Age: 28 Contact: Timezone: EST Other Character(s): Dominic De Luca |
Name: Juno Steel Door: Door Pass Canon: Penumbra Canon Point: End of Juno Steel and the Dragon's Den Age: 39 Appearance: link History: Link Personality: Self-destructive: If there's one thing Juno Steel is good at, it's making bad decisions. And not the sort of bad decisions that hurt other people (although they do sometimes, especially if those other people care about him) but the sort of bad decisions that hurt himself. There are numerous examples of this, and while the most apparent is the way he throws himself between anyone else and danger (most recently in Juno Steel and the Dragon's Den, he obtains a massive shoulder injury during a brawl that requires 20 stitches and a month of physical therapy). Juno doesn't value himself, and he welcomes the idea of dying because he doesn't think he deserves to live. Rude: Juno excels at distancing himself from people (although there are certain people who refuse to be distanced, Mick — Juno's childhood friend, who can't take a hint, Peter — Juno's lover, temporarily out of Juno's life after Juno walked out on him but he's definitely still in love with Juno, and Rita — Juno's secretary, who knows that Juno needs friendship). He does it mostly by being as rude as possible, from telling someone he's in bed with "No, I guess [sneaking out in the middle of the night] isn't [very ladylike]. You want me to call, or something?…..Fine, I'll see you around, you." to telling Rita "I was [enjoying my day off] until a few seconds ago" after she calls him. He's rude as a matter of course, and he doesn't care if that alienates people. He can be perfectly charming, usually before he sleeps with someone, but he doesn't have any desire to carry it through. Self-Centered: Everything is always all about Juno Steel. It's usually not in a positive way, Juno doesn't think that people should like him, but he does think that everything that goes wrong is his fault. This is most obvious in Juno Steel and the Day That Wouldn't Die, when Mick, Sasha (another childhood friend) and Juno are forced to go through the details of the death of Sasha's sister when they were all children. Even though it's Sasha's sister and they all had bad ideas which ultimately ended in Annie's death, Juno feels that only he is responsible for it, and only he should be punished for it. He takes too much on to himself in a way that entirely ignores the fact that other people have free will and make their choices. Smart: Juno is incredibly intelligent and he has the ability to respond quickly to events that occur. This is most obvious during Juno Steel and the Lesson Learned, when he's working through the puzzles created by a criminal known as The Proctor. When she gives him a logic puzzle, Juno solves it after the first time hearing it, even though he's interrupting her and only half paying attention at the time. He's good at following the clues and finding out the truth, good enough at it that even Juno admits it. Good: It doesn't matter what it costs him or what the other consequences are, Juno wants to do good. He doesn't always know how to do that good, and that's when he turns inward sometimes, but he's ready to put up with any other circumstances in the course of trying to do good. He feels personally responsible when bad things happen that he thinks he could have stopped, like the death of Yasmin Swift, which wasn't intentional and also occurred while she was trying to kill Juno. Powers and Abilities: Juno is an excellent shot, and he's become even better after getting the eye he loses replaced with a cybernetic one, the THEIA Spectrum. In addition to allowing Juno to shoot, the THEIA Spectrum can track targets, lipread, has a night vision mode, and can interface with neural networks, changing blood flow and taking over the body under some circumstances. Inventory: A note from Peter Nureyev, laser gun (gun, two settings - kill and stun), a comm device (doesn't work) Samples: Communicating Thinking, cw: smut |
